Long story short, we met attending a community college in our hometown. Scott was my math tutor, and I decided he might be good to keep around for more than numbers. We moved to our current town to attend university. We ended up building our life in this small, Appalachian arts town and decided we wanted to stay. We married in a tiny chapel in 2016 and welcomed our daughter, Beatrix during the craziness of 2020. Ours is a multigenerational home, my parents live with us and are the perfect babysitters. Scott is pursuing arts, while I am a writer, freelance journalist and professional communicator. Together, we share adventures, including travel, living our best life and our attempts at urban homesteading.

Our story is about being incredibly different, supporting each other, following dreams and chasing grace. We hope you enjoy our little online space.

Finding the me that was never found, but was forgotten during college, careers and adulting. First, I'm not whining. This isn't a sad story. Holy Brocc-O-mole !

Don't click away! I know what you're thinking. There is no way that broccoli could replace my yummy, creamy avocado. No, it probably won't. But it's a great alternative when you want to keep calories low. The taste of this broccomole dip is surprisingly close to the avocado variety and is satisfying when noshing on tortillas or a serving of baked chips. Plus, you get the added benefit of knowing that broccoli is amazing for you! Those green-leafy "trees" are a superfood with proposed cancer-fighting properties and a whole heaping list of other good qualities.  On my quest to be healthier, I have been seeking recipes that taste like things I love but with (hopefully) fewer calories. This yummy dip fits the bill. The original recipe was found on the Domestic Fits blog and the one below has a few tweaks by me.
